Out of order blog post, first show in Canberra. Friday the 13th, only 4dead bothered to dress up. This was a great start to the tour, show sold out.

After Newie we got a few days off in Canberra, then it was off to Byron Bay.
Show was okay, not great, not horrible. White room, brighter photos than usual, less shadows, rim lights running a little bit too hot.

Sam gets tattooed

While in Brisbane Sam got tattooed at Westside Tattoo by Stooks. Stooks drums for Extortion, and used to tattoo full time at westside when he lived in Brisbane, he recently moved to Amsterdam. Sam plays guitar in I Exist and this is the first one to get an I Exist tattoo. Here's a bunch of photos.

Extortion I Exist SXWZD Tour - Part 1

I'm not calling this a tour blog, because the last time I did that I didn't finish putting up all the photos until three months after the tour was over. We're three shows in, Canberra and Sydney were packed, I think Sydney even sold out. There are too many vans for the amount of people of this tour and we're getting an extra hatchback in Queensland, Extortion sold out of merch after 3 shows, Murph is an acoustic guitar jukebox, Kelly is always pissed, Jake brought a new hat with him and Aaron plays the vuvuzela better than anyone.

Marathon Promos

I did some promo shots for Marathon quite a while back when I was in Brisbane with I Exist on the Shai Hulud tour. I met the guys previously when I Exist went to Queensland and subsequently have seen them play a bunch of shows around the place. They have a new EP 'Never Safe' out through Arrest Records, and are doing an east coast tour very soon.

Mary Jane Kelly and Built on Secrets at the bald faced stag in sydney on the 18th of July 2010. On the 'Like there's no tomorrow tour' with Dead Kings.

Shot on a 5d mkII 24-70mm f2.8. The LED back lights caused some srobing and I couldn't find a shutter speed to eliminate it.

Dangers Graf Orlock Wollongong

The Wollongong venue for the Dangers Graf Orlock show was basically a pub/RSL kind of place, free entry, barely any crowd, a few people who had never heard of the bands came for the 'hard rock show'. Made it easier for me to take photos, I'm quite happy with them.

Dangers Graf Orlock - Red Rattler

I saw Dangers and Graf Orlock five times when they were here, and took photos at three of the shows. I liked Dangers a lot but Graf were a little bit underwhelming live. These are from the Red Rattler show in Marrickville, it's a weird place, more live a community theatre than  live music venue, it's full of old couches and milk crates and from what I understand it's completely volunteer run.
